Don't try to turn the problem around on those who are offended. The problem is with the people who are unrespectful, ireverent jerks. The same people who are spamming neo-nazi crap in RA international all day. Those people are the ones who you should be having a stern talking to, not the offended ones.

I see this primarily as a conflict over cultural values and ideals. Previously, I had a very hard time trying to understand how being rude could be seen as something positive. Then somebody mentioned taking their role models from pro wrestling (which is a show, not a sport) and that hit a chord. Some people are taught to behave badly in certain situations, and even to be proud of the fact. As my own ideals are closer to those of martial arts and bushido, I am seeing the questionable action in a completely different light. A person who taunts another in dojo before or after a match is an absolute disgrace to everything that he represents, and a failure as a practioner of the art regardless of technical skill. It has nothing to do with being a carebear or a treehugger and everything to do with dignity.

:O I agree. Some guys need to try and prove they are better than others through very basic, almost neanderthal like ways because they lack the dignity and morals to turn around and just say "good fight" or say nothing at all.

In the majority of PVP forms it is your aim to kill someone, so why make such a spectacle out of it? Obviously it really does get some guys off doing that, and to say they don't think it is insulting or disrespectful, then why are you doing it? You want to get a rise out of that person. Don't turn around and tell me you don't even get a slightly malicious jerk off feeling knowing you've pissed that person off.

All in all some people don't see that they are being an asshole sometimes in these situations because they can't, they don't know any better. Also some people can't grow thicker skins, it's just not in them to take it.

Personally I couldn't care less, I don't have a bambi because I've never really wanted one and I'm sure as hell not going to waste my time getting some silly animation so I can run around and antagonize people, same goes for the Zaishen emote.

I have been ranked a few times before, more often than not it made me chuckle and I couldn't help but imagine the stereotypical hyperactive 12 year old screaming "pwned" at his computer. I just assume thats the kind of mentality the person has and go on my merry way.

first i would like to poitn out that being "de ranked" in HA for emoting over a dead opponent is a myth. Not true. all those stories "i know a guy that know a guy that hadd an ex guildie..." is all gossip and a load of #(%$.
Anet never forwned upon this bahavior. in fact they put it on teh char in EoTN and actualy named the skill attached to it gloat! meaning anet does not
punish emoters. i remember one time i organised a rank spike on gaille gray in HA. she was fine with it. Anet's position on that emoting issue is neutral.

now as for the QQ about pve players able to get an emote i think its funny.

they want it for themself not to impress anyone.

This is a game. grow up, and be a good sport and take a little defeat with dignity. if you get ranked what does that take away from you? do you lose gold? do you.. lose fame? do you lose title points? umm.. no soo... yeah...
take the wins and the losses. all yo have to lose is a little bit of your elitist pride and an ego brusing whe some pve nub emotes you back.

It amazes me that you pvp players dont see the oportunity here to make gold and still remain in pvp.No more being forced to grind in pve just to get some gold. and 95% of the pvp comunity also have pve chars that they use in pvp, and in pvp yu need perfect weapons and several armour sets.
the few that have pvp only packs, what difference is it to you if sime pve guy emotes you? the same emote is available to you pvp players as well.soo... yah..its not like yo have been denied anything.
As for the emoting a dead enemy being bad behavior.... what about all the people that spam who the noobs are in all chat... and point out some poor rank 3 guy and make fun of him just because he has a deer and not a tiger? these are the things anet frowns upon.Racism in all chat, selling gold or accounts, rage quitting, leeching in RA, No my froends Anet does NOT support bad behavior, they just dont comply to your personal opions on what that behavior is.

Anet is not promoting bad behavior, they are creating fun, enjoyable gameplay. Whilst also promoting the economy by creating a title that took alot of elite farmers money.
I spent 500k+ on z-keys because i thought this new emote would look good on my para. Its not the 1st time i went broke, and it sure isnt the last.
I know alot of pvp players that had a great time these past 2 days as i shelled out 5k each for the keys. Im sure these key prices will drop, just like everything else in the game.

But If you really have a problem with someone emoting you after a battle, you might want to try some other game like The Sims.

jerks exist in this game regardless of anets actions. Jerks existed before anet and they will exist after anet. People know this they just need something new to complain about.

If you don't like getting emoted after you lose, then don't lose or don't play. Or better yet, WIN! Bitching on this site won't change anything. Anet doesnt care how you feel, they got your money already. Maybe they hope people will emote the losers, then the losers will report the emoters and anet will ban them. So now the emoters have to go out and buy the games again.
Good way to make money and matches their shady habits.

Nothing you can do now. Personally I dont care about being emoted or the title or the ability to buy it. Titles are useless, Atleast gwen titles give benefits. Titles are just another useless feature that people strive for until they get them, then a weak later they realize how pointless they really are.

Titles should do stuff, Like +x to energy, +x to life. +x to damage. Those that dont are useless. They are not needed yet people, often the people who bitch about grinding feel compeled to get them, Why? they dont do anything at all. Because they need a way to brag. But braging about a title with no benefits is like bragging about your new SUV, except you cant afford gas to drive anywhere.

I'm glad about the title, I'm gonna start farming zkeys. Thanks anet for making money making so easy.

I think we all get it. The fact that nobody bothers to comment on it is probably because the statement is kinda wrong.

Let's face it, if they didn't tell you (or to be more precise, USE IT AS A SELLING POINT), could you tell GW is made by ex-blizzard developers?

GW's polishness is far FAR less than any Blizzard games.

GW's cinematic, when available, looks weak comparing to Blizzard's.

GW's voice acting....do I have to comment on this?

GW's storyline....well...totally NOT of WarCraft/Diablo/Starcraft quality.

Need I go on? Sometimes it makes me wonder why they're not working at Blizzard anymore. Got fired?

Blizzard's games also have their own bad points. But, personally I don't think sharing the same bad points makes you think the two games are from the same company.

These are all the same thing. Guild Wars has a weak storyline. This is less of a big deal than you might think.

Arenanet and Blizzard are different companies with different business models. Both have produced extremely high quality products. As with any industry, the people in the top echelons tend to move between companies fluidly.

I remember one of the warriors in the GWWC (or was it GWFC) rank spiking a dead body. He didn't get banned, nor instantly kicked from the match.

It's part of competition, it's the online equivalent of patting someone on the head after you tackle their ass to the ground saying "better luck next time lil boy". Unsportmanship ? probably. Illegal ? Hell no.

No, they wanted to make a D2 with more emphasies on PvP! Blizzard had other plans, so they left.
